Well, there is the usual 24/7 window for trading, liquidity, leverage, etc., but it’s main attraction for me and for small traders is the CONTRACT SIZE. What do we mean? When you open a forex account, depending on the broker you chose, you can get trade micro lots (.10c/contract). This versatility can help any trading style by increasing or decreasing your entry SIZE depending on market conditions and what you think the probabilities of the trade working out will be. Honestly, it would be nice to say that all trades have more or less the same probabilities of working out, but that is not reality. By controlling the size of your position you can manage how aggressive you want to be. While this can also be accomplished trading futures, going from one contract on the NQ to two contracts is an increase of $5.00 per tick. With mini lots on forex you can chose on $1 increments how much you want to be exposed in the market. And since picking the exact top or bottom (if this is one of your strategies) is almost impossible, it allows you to at least add to your position with better pricing. Now, while we don’t follow Elliot wave theory explicitly, we find that third waves when they develop tend to move fast and longer than any other swings. We, at Third Wave Trading, try to capture those moves and position ourselves and our clients to take advantage of such moves.
